Raised in a family of musicians, I was introduced to music at an early age. I started singing in church and school sponsored events in the second grade and never looked back. Over the years I learned to play several instruments but none could hold a candle to the instrument God blessed me with. I soon discovered that singing was my passion.
In 1998, I began my professional singing career in St. Louis, Missouri with Galaxy Dance Band. While with Galaxy, I had the opportunity to travel to several cities across the United States and sang with many of St. Louis’ most prominent musicians. Over the next several years I went on to sing with several cover bands before finally venturing out on my own. In 2004, I started the CEEJazz Band, and delved head first into the world of vocal Jazz. Soon after, in 2005, I self released my debut album, Truly Loved, a mix of Jazz standards and original compositions. A few years later, I decided to revamp the band’s sound, and CEEJazzSoul was born.
I have performed on Harrah’s Lucky Break, been profiled on KSDK, KTVI, KPLR, 106.5 Smooth Jazz, Jazz at Cookies cable series and the Oprah Winfrey Network’s original program, Sweetie Pies. I am currently performing locally and recording music for my next EP release.

All at once, sultry, funky and intimately jazzy... St. Louis based singer-songwriter Cherilyn Evans began her singing in church, but she’s enjoyed a diverse professional career beyond the gospel realm. Fronting the CEEJazz Band, her rhythmically diverse jazz infused soul debut TRULY LOVED is a set of colorful originals with pop and jazz standards that showcase her inviting vocals with a variety of groove foundations.
